During the past school year, Mr. Alexander and Ms. Fitzhenry’s grade 7 and 8 students in conjunction with our teacher-librarian, Mrs. Brown, have been learning about different global issues through our character education class. We first started to learn about things like the Holocaust, Afghanistan and the Rwandan Genocide. We watched many videos and documentaries and took part in several videoconferences with other schools about different global issues.

After seeing many videos and websites about different issues, we wanted to make something of our own. We all agreed that we wanted to make a website with different global issues that we chose based on our interest. We were put into groups according to our interests, so that way we were all learning about something we found important.

After we gathered all of our information on our topic, all groups made a public service announcement. Some groups even held fundraisers for their particular cause! Then, finally, after a lot of work and concentration, we started designing our own webpages. After a long process and hard work, this is our final product. Enjoy!!
